Because of Chase's idea for march madness, we have created a tournament based on brackets. Here are the following URLs for each class:
Period 4: http://challonge.com/tournaments/bracket_generator?ref=Latbs88HIJ
Period 5: http://challonge.com/tournaments/bracket_generator?ref=Oq1K36Czxb
Period 6: http://challonge.com/tournaments/bracket_generator?ref=VLtu31qpZe
[All randomized seed]
The way we could grade, critique, comment, or whatever, everyone could simply download the Tapatalk app and find the forum under the name "Open Source Learning 2014". I say this because personally, none of us don't want to receive negativity for not posting things or having sufficient content. (No Account needed to create in order to make posts on forum).
Hints: Look for consistency, up-to-date assignments, outside course posts, masterpiece/big question, etc. Comment on people's blog if you want to changes/improvements/modifications.
If you agree to this, comment to this post or make posts or comments at the 5PH1NX blog (http://sphinxproject2015.blogspot.com/). If you disagree or want to make suggestions comment anyways, its always great to hear great feedback.
An example for what the contests might look like....
The Top Winners in each class will battle it out. The Final Tournament Winner will gain something special....
So Jeff and I literally logged on like five minutes ago to basically make a post like this, but it seems you have it handled, thanks man.
ReplyDeleteYour idea was the kickoff to this post so I have to thank you. :)

ReplyDeleteYeah! *high-five
ReplyDeleteTotally down for this. I'll help out with whatever's needed
We should add a consolation bracket (loser's bracket) so it's not just single elimination. I dont know if the program you're using can support that or not but I think it would be cool so people who "lose" first round aren't out all together but could come back for third.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I think I could put that in because the site I used is just a simple bracket generator, literally. it shouldn't be hard to put in the loser's bracket. So each period has to make up that loser's bracket with the people's names (basically borrow the keyboard and mouse from Preston for a bit)
DeleteI think this is a great idea because this involves everyones participation. I'm just a bit confused on how we are going to rank or kind or score the blogs? Is this going to be more of a class discussion tomorrow?
ReplyDeleteThat's where the Tapatalk app comes in. I sorta put the criteria at the hint section, so yeah probably to clear things up is at the classroom to set up guidelines.
DeleteOkay thanks. I'll definitely need to get that app then!
DeleteLet the battle begin...
